Engadget Reviews The New PS Vita, Calls It Better Than Older Model

New PS Vita
Mat Smith of Engadget recently reviewed the new PS Vita and they seem to tell a lot of good things about it.

Engadget described the new PS Vita's size and weight as "more comfortable to use". The 20% reduced size and 15% reduced weight seem to substantially increase the comfort level. They also said that the curved edges makes the device easier to grip.

They seem to have some issues with the LCD screen vs the OLED screen. As expected, the colors on the LCD screen are more washed out and less vivid. However, Engadget also seem to give an indication that the difference in color quality for "still" photos and websites (if you browse) could be unnoticeable.

You can now use a mobile phone charger that uses micro-USB and can output 2.1A. That is really good since it's easier to just find those things in almost any part of the world. There's also a built-in 1GB storage, which should be enough for a 3 to 4 games including small apps like Facebook and Twitter, but might fall short if you're subscribed to PlayStation Plus or bigger games.

Engadget's benchmark for the battery life took about 8 hours with WiFi on and 50% brightness. They said that it could reach to even 12 hours with less intensive games.

They closed their new PS Vita review stating that  "the new Vita is better than the last".

Have you tried the new PS Vita model? How did you like it?
