The Pink Nintendo 3DS was shown off during the past Nintendo Conference held this year (2011). Their decision to launch a more feminine color was based on Nintendo's study of  previous sales for the Wii and DS platforms.

The new 3DS color will be on sale in Japan on October 20, 2011 and will be officially called Nintendo 3DS Misty Pink.
