New Shantae Game Coming To 3DS

A new Shantae game dubbed "Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse" will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS as a digital download.

In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, it was said the new game will be a sequel to Shantae: Risky’s Revenge. The game will start off with Shantae without her magical powers, getting accustomed to her magic-free life. Shantae will be teaming up with her archenemy, Risky Boots, in order to prevent Risky's former mentor, the Pirate Master, in coming to life.

Shantae's mission is to go after and destroy 30 different Tinkerbats that have turned against Risky. Tinkerbats will be in their in their more-powerful and more-evil forms.

The game will still be a 2D side-scrolling game as depicted on the screenshots above.

Shantae no longer have the power she once had, so she'll have to fight the enemies with her own hands by becoming a pirate herself. There will be pirate gears that would allow her to learn new abilities.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse will be released sometime in 2013. The game is being developed and published by WayForward.
