Pachter: The Vita Is Dead, It’s Over.

Pachter: The Vita Is Dead, It’s Over.
Video games and electronics analyst Michael Pachter shares his insights (or rather, predictions) about the PlayStation Vita during his Pach-Attack show at Game Trailers.

According to Pachter, the only thing that's going to help the Vita sell more is compelling software. He follows it with a very strong opinion that the Vita is a great device that nobody thinks they need it.
“I think if they made the PS Vita in different colors it wouldn’t sell more. The only thing that’s going to sell more Vitas is compelling software. God, I shudder to tell you how many units of Vita were sold this month, but the answer is ‘not very many. The Vita is dead, it’s over. It’s a really great device that nobody thinks they need so no one’s buying it – it is really slick, if you get one you will like it.”
Pachter also seems to believe that not even the PS4 can save the Vita. So far, most games that come out of the Vita are from Indie developers. Perhaps it's safe to say, there isn't much major third-party support.

So do you agree with Pachter? Do you also believe that the Vita is dead? Tell us by leaving a comment below!

  2. Did you mean yes, you believe it's dead? I don't think it's dead though, even when I made this post. But I think the Indie games are what's keeping the Vita alive.
