Sony revealed a new PlayStation Vita model that is slimmer and lighter than due to come out in October in Japan.
The new PlayStation Vita slim model will be 20% thinner and 15% lighter. It will also have a 1GB built-in storage memory for saving and such.
The new device will only feature a WiFi model. It will have longer battery life which is 6 hours or 1 hour more than the current WiFi-only model. It will also be possible to charge the device using a micro USB.
As per dimensions, the new model will be 15mm in thick (or thin, if you compare it to the old ones) and weighs at 219g.
However, compared to older models which used an OLED screen, the new model will only have a multi-touch capacitive LCD screen.
Once it comes out, the new Vita slim model will feature six colors: white, black, grey, blue, yellow and pink.
The official model number for the slim model is PCH-2000. There has been no word as to whether or when it will be released on Western shores.
The new Vita will cost 18,980 yen (roughly $200) and will be released on October 10th in Japan.
