3D Altered Beast Released On Nintendo 3DS (Japan)

Altered Beast has risen from the grave! SEGA's classic side-scrolling brawler has recently made comeback as a 3D game on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan.

Instead of the arcade version however, 3D Altered Beast will be an enhanced version of the SEGA Genesis (Megadrive) version.

Altered Beast is about a Roman centurion, raised from the dead by Zeus and ordered to save his daughter Athena from the hands of a demon god called Neff.

Absorbing spirit balls allow him to transform into half-human, half-beast form. His other halves consist of being a wolf, a bear, a dragon, and a tiger. The game features five different levels, with a boss at the end of each level.

Unlike the original where each transformation is tailored to each level you play, The 3DS version will allow players to change their transformation to any beast on any level.
